2007 Prince Gallitzin Cross Award Recipient Lucy Mock
is a member of the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Loretto,
and was nominated by other members of the parish, who describe her as “a
tireless worker for everything concerning the Basilica and all her numerous
friends.” Basilica rector
Monsignor Timothy Swope endorsed the nomination, adding “Lucy has cared for
the Gallitzin House, the Diocesan Shrine and the Basilica grounds for decades
using her own funds to make the areas presentable.
She has worked as a faithful and active parishioner her whole life as
well as a volunteer for the community (e.g. bloodmobile, Legion, Carmel, etc.)
for well over 50 years.”
